Brno is the second largest city of the Czech Republic, located in the south-east of the country, as the confluence of the Svitava and Syratka rivers. The town is a political and cultural hub of the South Moravian Region (population est 1,125,000).
Brno is located in the central part of Europe on the border of the Moravian Gate through which routes that connect the northern and southern European regions. In geographical terms, Brno is part of the Danube region and is historically associated with Vienna, which is less than 110km away. Brno has some other advantages that make it the natural choice of investors.
It is strategically
placed at the centre of a European traffic network (junction of road
and railway routes).
As its airport expands, Brno is being made accessible to mass air travel by budget airlines. Although, like Prague, Brno has a relatively high level of private property ownership and regulated tenancies, the lack of newly constructed flats, combined with the influx of workers from outside Brno, has caused a buoyant rental market. Workers migrating from outside Brno are faced with no other choice but to rent.
