Turin City Guide
Turin is an interesting city in the Piemonte region, situated on the River Po in the far northwest of Italy, and surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. Turin's attractions include the Mole Antonelliana, a strange, spire-topped building which features on the Italian 2 euro-cent coin. It has good museum of cinema housed in the building. Other museums in Turin include the excellent Egyptian Museum.
Turin is not as the politicaly important as it once was before the parliament of a united Italy moved to Rome, but the city is a impotant industrial centre ( famous for car manufacturer Fiat) The town centre is Barouqe cosmopolitan and gracious. The city is full of noble statues of Savoy princes and elegant arcaded streets for all-weather shopping and strolling.
Turin is like Milan home to two major Football clubs, Juventas and Torino, Juventtas has a huge fan base all over Italy while Torino is supported mostly by locals. Oh Yes its also the home of the famous Turin Shroud
