Denia
Travelling up the coastline, through the Costa Blanca South, and almost to the tip of the Costa Blanca North, you rarely lose sight of the beautiful Mediterranean lapping the shore. When you arrive at Denia you arrive at one of the busiest fishing ports on the coast, guarded over by its glowering castle and, until only recently, seen very much as a place where the Spanish themselves bought, with very few foreigners doing much except passing through as they took the ferry to Ibiza. All that has changed now, though. Above Denia rises the Montgo, the mountainous national park where the fortunate few can live at its feet.
