Dordogne property - Dordogne property for sale

French property home page

Property in Dordogne

Dordogne is the third largest department in France and boasts 10% of all the chateaux in France and is widely thought of as the most scenic area in France. It has been the most popular place in France for foreign buyers, particularly those from the UK and has been dubbed “Little Britain”.

The department is split into four particular territories – Green Perigord, which was named after its many green valleys; White Perigord named because of its limestone plateaux, and where you will find Dordogne’s capital, Perigueux; Purple Perigord, named after the area’s grapes; and Black Perigord, which is a magical place of deep valleys and ancient forests.

The most popular place to buy property in the Dordogne is in the South, where the prices are high, because of high demand. You may find renovations in the Dordogne, but they are not as readily available as in other areas of France but there is still plenty of Dordogne property for sale.
