loire property - property in loire valleyProperty in the Loire Valley
The Loire Valley is the heart of France and one of its largest regions, marking a North-South divide between the cool and the warm, the urban and the rural.
The Loire, France’s longest river, runs through the towns of Tours, Blois and Orleans, bisecting the region. Blois and Orleans are thought by some to be the second and third best places to live in France. The Loire Valley has always attracted poets, writers and artists due to its bourgeois prestige, and in the 13th Century, Orleans was France’s intellectual capital. The Loire Valley is also well known for its beautiful and diverse selection of flowers and its beautiful châteaux. It also has good transports links in the form of motorways and TGV trains.
All these criteria make buying property in the Loire Valley a good choice for overseas buyers, and many Parisians have already chosen the Loire Valley as a destination for a second home. One reason may be because the region is completely unspoiled by tourism or industry and another may be that areas such as the Indre and Cher offer very good value, with some of the cheapest property in the whole of France. Do bear in mind that prices do get more expensive near the main towns.
