Naples Guide Italy
Naples is the most beautiful and largest city in Southern Italy, the Bay of Naples is a stunning vista. Naples is the capital of Campania, this large metropolis was founded by Greeks and later enlarged by Romans, and as a result is rich in history and stunning architecture.
Naples lies on the side of Mount Vesuvius, and near to the bay are the sun soaked and beautiful islands of Capri and Procida, which all are great for to day trips. For a spectacular and unrivalled glimpse into history you can see the time capsules of Pompeii and Herculaneum the most revealing Roman ruins in Italy, after being covered and destroyed by Vesuvius when it erupted almost 2,000 years ago.
The official tourist information centre stand son the Piazza dei Martriri,
They stock the excellent 'Qui Napoli' brochure, which comes with a good
map and an English guide to the principal sights. The city is may not
have the status of Rome or Florence, but it certainly deserves a place
among the top destinations in Italy and really should not be missed. |
